AFPMB Bulletin - Vol. 28, 2008
The Bulletin is a means of immediate dissemination of information of
significant interest to the AFPMB's constituency. Continuing the
tradition developed since the first DPMIAC Technical Information
Bulletin (TIB) was published in 1980, this on-line Bulletin picks up
as Volume 22, for the year 2002. Published items will be
numbered, and archived periodically for future access.

Hyalomma
marginatum
on a Permethrin-impregnated Battle
Dress Uniform in Afghanistan
– Michael K. Faulde. The rapid,
spider-like movements of hyalommine
ticks enhance their effectiveness as
vectors of Crimean-Congo hemorrhagic
fever. However, in this film clip, a
“hot feet” effect is evident as the
tick progresses up the treated BDU,
causing it to eventually release its
hold on the fabric and drop to the
ground.
